MOH Publishes Q&A on SO2 Labeling for Wine and Country/Region of Origin Labeling

1) Based on GB 7718-2011 and GB 2758-2012, before 1st, August 2013, all those wines that are allowed to use SO2 as additive should put SO2 or microscale SO2 on labels. After 1st August, 2013, all produced or imported wine using SO2 as additive should put SO2, or microscale SO2 and ingredient on labels.
2) Based on GB 7718-2011, imported pre-packaged food should be labeled with country/region of origin. The name refers to the one where food becomes final product, including packaging (bottling) country or region. Chinese labels of imported pre-packaged alcohol should accurately mark the name of original country or region.
